On May 13th, thirty-five California College Republicans
woke up once again at 8 AM on a Saturday morning to the delightful smell that
only a motel room could bring. For the
second time this year, they took to the streets of San Jose.
In February Hon Lien was able to beat out other candidates
running for the 4th District San Jose City Council position and
managed to get into the run off in part because of the support and efforts of
CCR.
The most astonishing thing about the weekend was not that
students sacrificed their time on mother’s day weekend, that this was CCR’s
third GOTV effort in a year, or that many people were simultaneously studying
for finals: it was that every targeted house was hit before sundown!
Everyone who participated deserves to give themselves a pat
on the back for their die hard efforts and commitment not only to this
organization, but to all conservatives statewide. With any luck, CCR’s efforts
will bring Hon Lien a well deserved victory and a chance at bringing reform to
the third largest city in California.
Good Luck Hon!
