The California Republican Party announced the launch of its new Leadership Internship program. The program will provide college students the opportunity to experience the American political process at close range, while helping to put Republican ideas into action. Successful applicants will have the chance to participate directly in the full array of party activities.
"Our goal is to provide the next generation of California's Republican leaders the unique, practical, and exciting opportunity to experience a level of involvement in American democracy in a Presidential election year that is impossible to match," said CRP Chairman Ron Nehring. "The California Republican Party is and will be the hub of the Republican campaign in 2008, and the Republican Leadership Internship program will provide our next generation of Republican leaders the opportunity to be a part of it while building their credentials for future success in whatever field they enter."
The internship program, which is now accepting applications, will
provide it's 2007-2008 participants direct involvement in the election
of the next President of the United States, and a wide array of
campaign activities including:
* Meetings with Republican elected officials in California.
* Participation in an official state convention of the California Republican Party.
* Practical campaign experience at a headquarters of the California
Republican Party, the largest state party in America and a frequent
stop for major Republican candidates, high-level public officials.
* Opportunity to network with Republican elected officials, staff members, and volunteers.
* College/public service credit, when complying with the requirements of the academic institution.
* Letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the program.
Applications are available on the website cagop.org for download or online submission.
