Page 5 of 5 After the Meeting It is a good idea to do something after the meeting to encourage camaraderie among your members. It is also a great chance to become further acquainted with each other. Here are some ideas: Order Pizza: Have pizza arrive at the end of your meeting. This will encourage people to stick around and socialize.
Social Event: Have a restaurant that you always go to afterwards. Make sure that you encourage all of the new members to come and offer them rides. *Do not have it at a bar that is 21-up. By their very nature, bars exclude half of your members.
Participate in a joint activity, such as decorate and hang posters around campus or stuff envelopes for a fundraising letter Conclusion: Remember that this is merely a suggestive guide for meetings. You may find that some of these ideas do not work well for your particular chapter or leadership style. You are encouraged to find what works best for you on your campus. No matter how you choose to run your meeting, here are some goals that should be accomplished by the end of your meeting:
Make sure that people feel welcome and leave with a sense of belonging
Make sure that your members are informed on the issues that affect them
Give them a way to get involved further and make a difference Good luck and do not hesitate to ask any CCR state officer for advice or assistance in planning your meetings, or any other matter.
